Kaiserslautern has strengthened its squad with Ibrahim Kanaté. The 19-year-old joins on loan from RSC Anderlecht and brings new dynamism to the offense.

What happened?

Kanaté played in 33 competitive games last season and scored five goals and one assist. FCK sports director Marcel Klos is full of praise for the Malian: „With Ibrahim, we gain an interesting profile for our squad. He gives us more flexibility on the wing and in the striker position through his speed and qualities in one-on-one situations.“

Why it matters for Kaiserslautern

Kaiserslautern is currently 6th in the 2. Bundesliga with 52 points from 34 games. The Red Devils have scored 52 goals and conceded 47 in the last season. The new winger is expected to strengthen the offense and help reduce the gap to the top teams.

What comes next?

Kaiserslautern has a purchase option for Kanaté and can thus bind him long-term. The 19-year-old will now integrate into the team and prepare for the new season. Kaiserslautern fans hope for a successful season and a possible promotion to the 1. Bundesliga.
